Brandon is one of the last unique small villages in Vermont complete with a vibrant town center; more than 240 buildings on the National Register representing a tapestry of 19th-century Victorian architecture, the Neshobe River running right through the center of the village, and even a covered bridge just outside of town.

Brandon has a contagious energy and friendly spirit which visitors often note, especially remarking how the cars in the village actually STOP for the pedestrians. The shops are mostly “mom and pop” owned which means the owner is on premises and the reception is friendly; it also means they may close around 5 or 6pm. There are a number of dining options ranging from a 6am- 2pm diner to a full service French bistro and bar operated by a classically trained French chef. The friendliness of Brandon is almost palpable and the calendar of annual activities for a town of 4000 is quite impressive.

Right in and just outside the village you can enjoy exploring the arts & antiques, lots of recreational activities, the village shops and galleries, our wonderful bookstore, restaurants/cafes, the two town greens, and two downtown pocket parks next to the falls of the Neshobe River.  Are you out of breath yet? Because there is also golf, two wineries, a brewery you can visit, and the Stephen A. Douglas birthplace.

Brandon’s location on Route 7 in Central Vermont makes it a convenient hub from which to travel the state.  Almost every popular attraction in Vermont can be reached from Brandon in under an hour or no more than an hour and a half.  So make us your home while you visit all Vermont!
